RACISM

Hello my fellow posters,
I feel that this is a subject to be discussed. This topic has been around for a long, long time. I am referring to the old age of RACISM ! Has it gotten any easier for people of a different race or has it gotten worse? I know that this is sometimes a touchy topic for some, but i feel that it is best to comment and maybe learn from other's insights or opinions.

Well I remember reading that the Darlington race way was in trouble because the fans did not turn out. Not enough ticket sells. Not sure if that has changed or not.

Quit stalling. Your not that stupid are you? I had more admiration for you, then what you are displaying now. If this subject is to tender for you, just say so. I will understand. But in case it is because of your lack of understanding of said topic, then I will answer your question. I am referring to all the races that at one point or the other has encountered the act of racism. And it is my heart felt disappointment that I feel that all of the human race has felt the stigma of racism at one time or many times in their existence. Now do you understand what I am asking of you? I want to know your opinion on such a thing called racism.

I have know Idea what you are asking. You state that all races have felt the sting of racism. Duh! This is your “heart felt disappointment”? LOL, you are killing me here. Racism is just one form of prejudice. People will always be prejudice. It is programmed in. People are afraid of that little square peg, that they can not put, in the little round hole. If your question is, does racism exist? Of course it does. Is it right? Of course not. So what is it exactly, that you are looking for in this thread? You will probably have to ask more specific questions.

Well I guess that is a specific question. Although quite redundant. Any discrimination is simply wrong. On a scale of one to ten. One is just as bad as ten. You would do better to ask, how I rate your questions, LOL.

Good point! Prejudice is not wrong in general. Everyone entertains some form of prejudice. However prejudices use to discriminate against others is not just wrong, but in many cases, (IE racism) illegal. It will not go away, it might change form however. Many people find it necessary to make others look bad in order to feel good about them selfs. Take some of the post here. A lot of them start off, insulting the other poster, before they even present their rebuttal. This is an attempt to make what they are getting ready to post, look good. Seldom works though. IE, the poster "Premier Edition" does often make light of, and attacks the post presented by poster "Lightfoot. However does not throw out the personal insults as Lightfoot enjoys doing. I am surprised that the boards admin allowed the personal attacks to stay.

I do appreciate your surprise. But let me clear this up. They were not all out personal attacks. For example, Lightfoot did not call Premier Edition stupid, but asked if he was stupid. This is probably a clever way to insult, and still stay with in the rules. You are right that it is personal. I allowed it to stay, because I know that those two guys, know each other. In the interest of having a free discussion board, I will normally allow such insults, unless the affected poster complains. What offends one, may amuse the other. I hope this clears up your confusion.
